Colorado born and raised, Simone Cordery-Cotter is the Regional Coordinator for CivicSpark’s Sacramento/Sierra region, where she oversees and mentors 14 very talented Fellows working on water and climate changes facing local governments in California. She began her career in corporate marketing and public relations, where she worked as an account manager for an advertising agency and was the public relations director for an international performance brand. She is a 2018-2019 CivicSpark alum, and stayed on after her service year with Sierra Business Council, a triple-bottom line nonprofit that advances the economic, environmental, and social well-being of communities in the mountainous Sierra Nevada region. She continues to leverage her communications and analysis skills in her graduate program at Portland State University, where she is pursuing a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Natural Resource Advocacy. She works part time for LGC from her plant-filled apartment in Portland, OR, where one can occasionally find her partner and dog among the leaves.
