Clare was born and raised in San Francisco and recently graduated from Scripps College with a B.A. in Environmental Analysis. Growing up in an urban setting, she became interested in how the built environment shaped the lived experiences of its residents, and in sustainable municipal practices to mitigate the impacts of climate change. While in college, she pursued these interests through working with local grassroots organizations such as the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, affordable housing advocacy work in her college town, and a culminating senior thesis on environmental justice and public open space accessibility. Clare is looking forward to working with other SCAG fellows to support local governments in addressing critical housing needs, and joining the movement to create a more sustainable, livable, and equitable California.
