Justin Szasz was raised in Santa Cruz, CA, and attended Harvard College. He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies. From fall 2018 to summer 2019, Justin worked as a Research Assistant at the Harvard University Center for the Environment, studying the intersection of political economy and climate change: both how economic policies affect Carbon emissions trajectories and how weather events connected to climate change interact with economic policies to affect people. Justin sees the CivicSpark Fellowship as a chance to learn how emissions reduction plans are created and implemented on a local level and to get involved in reducing California’s Carbon emissions.
