Project(s): Building Capacity and Water Resiliency for Tribal Governments and Disadvantaged Communities in California
Born and raised in California, Emily graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Sustainable Environmental Design and a minor in Landscape Architecture. Emily has since served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer with the Big Pine Paiute Tribe of the Owens Valley and has been working to reduce barriers to solar implementation for the Tribe. Emily’s experience living and working in Eastern California has spurred her interest in water management and environmental justice, and she is excited to dive deep into these topics in her CivicSpark position with the Department of Water Resources.
