While most people think of CivicSpark as an environmental program, CivicSpark can also be utilized as part of local government COVID recovery efforts. As a capacity-building program focused on responding to emerging issues, CivicSpark has the flexibility to place Fellows in roles that support recovery efforts. The roles that our Fellows have successfully played across California in support of activities such as Climate Action Planning or Affordable Housing support are well suited to taking up the challenge of COVID-19 Recovery.
Having a Fellow support efforts to develop responsive programs, research recovery options, or support bridging activities with community members and needed resources could be a cost-effective way to bolster broader response efforts while providing community members who want to help a means to engage.
If you are a potential project partner (not a potential Fellow) and are interested in having Fellows support COVID recovery activities, please get in touch with Mackenzie Bolger (email@example.com) to discuss your needs and how a Fellow might support your community.
