Madeleine Travis

Region: Central CA

Project(s): County of San Luis Obispo – Public Works Email: mtravis@civicspark.lgc.org Fellow Bio:

Madeleine was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and established her roots in the Pacific Northwest where she graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Environmental Studies and a focus on Spanish. Her passion for securing equitable access to potable water through proactive and collaborative policy, planning and management coupled with her dedication to serving her community, fighting for environmental justice and supporting a more resilient California aligned her with CivicSpark. She is very grateful for the opportunity to take on this role as a fellow to contribute in a meaningful way to the beautiful county of San Luis Obispo’s groundwater supply through promoting stormwater capture. She is thrilled to synergistically work with dozens of stakeholders to address their vested interests in water resources ranging from urban/municipal, environmental and agricultural needs to devise transparent and sustainable solutions. When she’s not at sea, doing fieldwork or at city council meetings advocating for stronger environmental protections, Madeleine enjoys surfing, snowboarding, hiking and spending time in the great outdoors connecting with good people over good food!
