Julia Cohen

Julia Cohen is a graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. While attending UCSC, Julia gained valuable experience engaging with the community through climate and marine science education at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center. She worked in marine and freshwater ecology laboratories at Long Marine Lab, and went on to conduct a research project on the effects of ocean acidification in the Mediterranean Sea. Julia’s ultimate goal is to work at the intersection of science and policy to help her community adapt to the effects of climate change. As a CivicSpark fellow, she is excited to receive hands on training that will prepare her for a career in climate adaptation and community service.
