Carissa is a Sierra Nevada native and currently lives in Reno, NV. She graduated with a BS in Environmental Science and a minor in Public Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. During her time in Nevada, Carissa was heavily involved on campus and developed a passion for public service through her roles in student government and various leadership positions. Carissa was drawn to the CivicSpark program because it offers an opportunity to combine her background in environmental science and passion for public service. She is excited to help the Sierra Business Council prepare rural communities like hers to become more energy and climate resilient.
