Region: Bay Area

Project(s): Climate Action Plan Update and Community Engagement for Mobility Hubs and Affordable Housing Projects Email: sbowman@civicspark.lgc.org Fellow Bio:

Sam Bowman was born and raised in Sacramento, CA, and moved to San Francisco to study everything under the Karl-overcast sun. Deeply concerned about the global ecological crisis, and passionately interested in global politics, he obtained a BA in International Relations at SFSU in 2017, focusing on environmental treaties. Having become intimately familiar with the Bay Area’s affordable housing crisis, he joined AmeriCorps after graduation, through which he completed a service year as a Volunteer Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. His sincerest passion lies in doing his small part to help move his community toward a sustainable harmony with the planet. To that end, he could not be more excited by the personal, professional, and communal growth made possible by his mentors (and fellow Fellows) in the CivicSpark program.
