Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Arlin Benavides is interested in social justice, sustainability and design, and human welfare, particularly in the context of generational poverty within underserved regions. He holds a BA in Urban Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Arlin joined CivicSpark to gain a deeper understanding of planning practices and policymaking through the lens of environmental justice. He’s committed to immerse himself in community engagement to understand citizen concerns to address challenges being faced by low-resource communities in California’s Central Valley.
