A lifelong Coachella Valley resident, Alan studied at College of the Desert and UC Berkeley, earning a degree in Environmental Economics and Policy. He is interested in decarbonization of the electricity sector and methods of procuring clean energy. Upon returning home early last year, Alan helped to empower local community college students to lobby for clean energy and climate initiatives to their city councils, as well as assisting the Coachella Valley Association of Governments with ClearPath software and acquiring GHG inventory data. Through his time in local government he became inspired to apply to CivicSpark, where he hopes to apply his professional and educational knowledge in assisting the City of Moreno Valley Public Utility with the “duck curve”. In his spare time, Alan likes to read, go to the gym, take long walks, and attempt to beat the SoCal heat. (2)
