Fellow Bio:

Molly Marcussen is a recent graduate of Chico State with a Bachelors of Science in Social Sciences with a focus in Environmental Planning. She also obtained a minor in Geography and a certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning. Molly was born and raised on a small dairy in Tomales, California where she spent days hiking and exploring the beaches of Marin County. After high school, she moved to Chico and fell in love with Chico and its community. While attending Chico State, she really enjoyed the course work her planning classes had to offer. She worked on a lot of class projects related to climate action planning and environmental planning and decided she wanted to start a career in planning. When she found out Chico and Butte County were planning on obtaining a Fellow through CivicSpark to work on Climate Change Adaption and Resiliency, it seemed to perfect to pass up. Molly believes the first step to a sustainable future is to start planning for it at the local level and it’s her hope that she will be able to do this through the CivicSpark program.
