Fellow Bio:

Michal Helman is an avid explorer with a lifelong passion for social and environmental justice. While Michal grew up in the hilly moraines of Ann Arbor, Michigan, for the past four years she has been working as the Program Manager at the Ethics and Public Affairs Program in Missoula, Montana. After having received her bachelors degree at the University of Michigan in Philosophy and Environmental Science, Michal went on to complete her M.S. in International Conservation and Development at the University of Montana’s College of Forestry and Conservation. Michal’s academic research has focused on water governance and climate change impacts on the livelihood of agro-pastoralists in the Chilean Patagonia. Michal joins the CivicSpark team to continue working on bridging the gap between environmental issues and social policy through engaging communities to participate in local water governance initiatives.
