Neil was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He studied at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a BS in environmental studies with minors in water science and sociology. He is currently completing a masters thesis from UNL in community and regional planning with the topic: municipal level climate action planning in increasingly politicized realities. He has worked with agencies on topics including energy efficiency, ESPCs, energy tracking and analysis, GhG tracking and analysis, green purchasing policies, LCCAs, green building, outreach, waste diversion and small scale agriculture. Most recently Neil worked as Sustainability Specialist at the University of Toledo. Some of his professional interests include energy planning and climate action planning.
