Fellow Bio:

Rebecca True is a Project Coordinator for Energize Fresno with the Local Government Commission. Energize Fresno is developing a web-based platform to help Fresno and other communities prioritize projects that fit within their strategic growth goals, catalyze development, and deploy advanced energy technologies for lower energy costs, optimal resource savings, energy independence, and a more resilient grid. The platform aims to streamline and layer the project funding-matching process to accelerate action. A Sacramento native, Rebecca graduated from CU Boulder in 2015 with studies in the environment, public health, and sustainable development. The classes she took during her study abroad experience in Sweden cemented her desire to pursue design problems in the built environment through strategic growth, local energy production, and resiliency planning. As a CivicSpark AmeriCorps Fellow based in Merced County, Rebecca promoted alternative transportation and assisted with various planning and sustainability projects for local jurisdictions in support of the region’s Sustainable Communities Strategy. Rebecca’s career interests are in the field of urban planning, and she enjoys spending time with her cat and salsa dancing in her free time.
