Region: Greater Los Angeles – Water
Project(s): Long Beach Water Department – Water-Efficient Landscape Survey
Andrea Antony received her Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Science from Loyola Marymount University. While there, she worked with her academic advisor on a stormwater quality project, and held the position of President of the Environmentally Conscious and Organized Students. After receiving her degree, she worked on further projects around water quality and stormwater at Southern California Coastal Water Research Project. Currently, Andrea is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration at California State University Long Beach. In addition, she volunteers with Heal the Bay and the Long Beach Aquarium, where she is a community advocate speaking on issues around pollution and water conservation. She is a strong believer that through education, community collaboration, and coherent policy, water quality and conservation in the Los Angeles area and beyond will improve. Through her work with CivicSpark, Andrea is looking to gain further experience on policy development and managing special projects around water. Her future plans are to work in local government as a policy analyst focused on water use rights, water quality, and water conservation.
