Fellow Bio:
Rickie grew up in the San Gabriel Valley region of Southern California, but now resides in Oakland. During his time at Pomona College, he studied environmental biology and became involved in various sustainability initiatives as well as student organizing. He is joining CivicSpark to address environmental issues and engage in innovative methods of community policy implementation. Through the fellowship, he hopes to develop a better understanding of the ways in which California can adapt to climate change and reduce the impact that it will have on public health. He hopes that that this work will inform future endeavors in ecological restoration and environmental justice.
