Fellow Bio:

Nikki is a Tahoe local, born and raised on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. She has a deep love and appreciation for her home in the Sierra Nevadas, and for this reason she is incredibly stoked to begin work to adapt this beautiful area to climate change. Everything she has been doing in recent years has led her to this position, where she will have the chance to work on her passions for sustainability and local communities. she recently graduated with a bachelorÍs degree in Anthropology and a concentration in Environmental Studies from Williams College, a small but excellent liberal arts school in northwest Massachusetts. During college, Nikki had the opportunity to study abroad in Siena, Italy in a Sustainability Program, where she first became fascinated by the relationships between food, culture, environmental policy, and climate change. She also worked as both an Eco-Advisor and a student representative on the Campus Environmental Advisory Committee while at Williams College. For these she worked with other students, administrators, faculty members, and others to analyze the carbon footprint of the college and develop projects to improve campus sustainability. She’s also interned with an environmental non-profit in San Diego, working to develop their K-12 food system educational program, and this past fall she worked as a Recruitment Director to canvass and get out the vote for the November election.
